Who we are

Oregon is one of six states, or "wings," that comprise the Pacific Region of Civil Air Patrol -- the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force . Civil Air Patrol (CAP), headquartered at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, under the Air Education and Training Command , is a non-profit, federally-chartered volunteer organization dedicated to serving the people of the United States through its three missions: Emergency Services, including Homeland Security , Aerospace Education and the Cadet Program (see links below)

Oregon Wing, Civil Air Patrol , is home to 17 units ("squadrons" and "flights") with approximately 620 members. Our Wing Headquarters is located at the Mahlon Sweet Airport in Eugene , Oregon.

The Oregon Wing is led by Colonel Brian Bishop.   Colonel Bishop makes his home in Portland, Oregon.

Captain Larry Kendrick, is the Oregon Wing Vice Commander. Capt Kendrick makes his home in Medford, Oregon.

Captain Winton "Sonny" Adcock, is the Oregon Wing Chief of Staff. Captain Adcock makes his home in Beaverton, Oregon.

Pioneered by writer-aviator Gill Robb Wilson, with the support of General Henry "Hap" Arnold, the Civil Air Patrol was created on Dec. 1, 1941--one week before Pearl Harbor.
Missions Missions

National HQ, Maxwell Alabama, USA Organization
CAP is the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and is organized along military lines. There are more than 1,700 units; half of which have both senior members and cadets within their membership.
Resources Resources
With more than 60,000 members, 535 light aircraft and an extensive communications capability (the largest organized network of volunteers in the country) the CAP is fully equipped to complete its missions for America.
