What’s in your wallet?

The CAP regulations require that you have specific items in your possession when you are participating in a CAP incident.

Each member must have certain documents in their possession while participating in a CAP ES activity. In Oregon Wing, the minimum items are:

1)     Current CAP membership card

2)     Current CAPF 101 card

3)     Applicable SQTR forms if trainee

4)     The PIC of the aircraft is required to have additional items. These are

a.      Copy of CAPR 60-1

b.      Current Pilot’s License

c.      Current Medical Certificate

d.      Logbook proof of current FAA pilot currency, CAPF 5 and CAPF 91 (if MP)

5)     Current CAP CAPF-75 Drivers License (if applicable) with State Driver License

6)   Current ROA card if you will be using a CAP radio

Because Oregon Wing normally uses a computer database to verify your qualifications, you will usually not be asked to produce these documents. However, if there is a discrepancy or the computer database is not available, you will be asked to produce them.

Any member who cannot produce the documents when requested will be denied participation in the incident and will be required to leave the premise immediately. There is no insurance protection for any member who does not have these documents.
