Purpose of Encampment. "CAP encampments are designed to provide CAP members an opportunity

  • to apply knowledge gained in the cadet and senior programs to practical situations,
  • to develop a greater understanding of the CAP mission and CAP capabilities, and
  • to develop their potential for aerospace leadership in an actual aerospace environment." CAPM 52-16.

 

Utility of Encampment in Oregon Wing. The goal of the encampment program in Oregon Wing is:

  • to standardize basic cadet training within the state;
  • to develop skills in interpersonal relations;
  • to develop skills in time management, counseling, and teaching by the cadet staff;
  • to instill group cooperation and teamwork;
  • to instill a sense of discipline in the Cadet Corps of Oregon Wing;
  • to challenge each cadet to accomplish tasks and insure that they succeed.

Requirements:


•  Previous Encampment Experience (no exceptions)


•  C/SSgt or above for all NCO positions with the exception of Command 1 st Sgt.


•  C/2d Lt for all officer positions with the exception of those previously stated


•  CPPT Completion for cadets that have had their 18 th birthday prior to 25 March 2007


•  At least 13 years of age by 30 June 2007(for all cadets)

All Cadet Staff must be able to attend the staff selection and training dates:
