New Wing Assignments
There have been some recent changes in assignments within Wing Operations. The current assignments are:
Maj. David Ayers Ass't DO
Capt. Arnie Rosenthal Stan/Eval
Capt. Robert Weyant Aircraft Main t M gr
Lt. Col. Pete Andersen ES Officer
Maj. Ted Tanory CD Officer
Our thanks to Capt. Dick Weichman for his many years of dedicated and effective service as ORWG Aircraft Maintenance Manager.
NHQ has just issued a contract to Aero Maintenance at VUO to provide Consolidated Maintenance for ORWG. There will be more information forthcoming in the near future about how we will manage this program. Going forward please coordinate all maintenance action requests and discrepancy reports with Capt. Weyant.
Pilots desiring G1000 training …we have approval for another round of matching funding on the glass. Refer to my earlier announcements regarding the ground rules for taking advantage of this funding. It will be available from 7/21 through 8/19, or up to the authorized budget whichever occurs first. If you are going to fly a reimbursable sortie please contact me a few days in advance for instructions on how to properly set up the flight release request. If not done properly, and the process is a little different, it will jeopardize the reimbursement (as one member recently found out).
On a different note …our Air Force directed/monitored GTE is scheduled for August 13th through the 15th with the ICP at UAO and a Staging base at MFR. One of the keys to a successful event is member participation. This exercise is designed to stretch our capabilities to the limit, which can be severely hindered without maximum member participation. In the past we have taken hits when critical positions were not filled on a timely basis. Please mark these dates on your calendar and commit to participating to your maximum ability. This is our most important exercise of the year.

CYBER PATRIOT
is a cyber defense competition that tests the ability of the students to defend a simulated corporate network from external hostile attacks. But, it is far more than just a competition. It is designed to educate and motivate your cadets to become the cyber defenders the nation needs while promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
This year, the AFA is expanding the competition to include an All-Service Division, which will include CAP and each of the services' JROTC units and an Open Division for high schools without a JROTC. The winners of the All-Services Division will compete in the Open Division to determine the overall champions.
Go to www.capmembers.com/cyber for information about registering a team. Registration runs from May 10th to July 10th.
Sincerely,
Steven J. Trupp

This message traffic has set the stage for the tasks we were asked to perform later in the week. The peak of the activity occurred on Saturday, August 8th, with a debrief taking place on Sunday. However we have has requests for some tasks to be performed likely on Thursday and Friday.
Maj. Ira Rosenberg was the IC and should be contacted for information regarding mission. For more information see attached. |
